how to make wine slushies

How does one make a wine slushy?

Wine slushies are a refreshing summertime drink, perfect for parties, BBQs, or just enjoying on a patio with friends. And they’re so easy to make! Just follow these steps and you’ll be enjoying a wine slushy in no time.

You’ll need:
-Wine (of course!) We recommend a fruity Moscato or Riesling.
-Frozen fruit chunks or berries.
– Juice, lemonade, or soda (optional)
– A blender

Step 1: Pour your wine into a freezer-safe container. We like to use a 1-gallon pitcher so we can make a big batch to share.

Step 2: Add in your frozen fruit. This is where you can get creative! Mix and match different fruits, or keep it simple with just one type.

Step 3: If you’re using a juice, lemonade, or soda, add it in now.

Step 4: Stick the whole thing in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

Step 5: When you’re ready to make your slushies, take the mixture out of the freezer and scoop it into your blender. Add a little bit of water or wine if it’s too thick.

Step 6: Blend until smooth and pour into glasses. Serve immediately.

Enjoy your wine slushies!

How to make grape wine slushies

Assuming you would like a recipe:

Ingredients
1 liter red grape juice
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon citric acid
1 teaspoon red wine yeast
1⁄2 teaspoon yeast nutrient
1⁄4 teaspoon grape tannin
1 liter 7-Up

Instructions
Clean and sterilize all of your equipment. This is important because you don’t want any unwanted bacteria ruining your wine.

In a primary fermentation bucket, mix together the grape juice, sugar, citric acid, and red wine yeast. Stir well to dissolve the sugar and yeast.

Let the mixture sit for 12 hours, stirring occasionally.

After 12 hours, add the yeast nutrient and grape tannin. Stir well.

Put a lid on the bucket and affix an airlock. Store the bucket in a cool, dark place for 3-5 days, stirring once a day.

After 3-5 days, siphon the wine into a secondary fermentation vessel. Siphoning will help to leave any sediment behind.

Again, put a lid on the vessel and affix an airlock. Store the vessel in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks.

After 2-3 weeks, siphon the wine into a third vessel. This time, you’ll want to bottle the wine.

To make the slushies, mix 3 parts wine to 1 part 7-Up. Serve over ice and enjoy!
